As a young man in Kenya, Chris Mburu’s life was forever changed by one small act of kindness. Now a Harvard graduate and a human rights lawyer for the United Nations, Chris decides to find the stranger that changed his life and starts a scholarship program for youth in her name (the Hilde Back Education Fund). With clarity and grace, A Small Act, bears witness to the ripple effect a single action can create.

The Best of the NBF: Surviving Progress

For its first movie projection, the AFT theatre offers you a special NFB night with the movie "Surviving progress" in the presence of the movie director, Mathieu Roy and produced by Martin Scorsese. Mathieu Roy will come present his movie and exchange with the public! This event will take place in a serie of culturals rendez-vous organized from May 3rd to May 15 at the occasion of the theater opening!
