Ciné-Opéra | NABUCCO by G. Verdi ( in Italian with English subtitles )

Alliance Française Toronto and Istituto Italiano di Cultura Toronto, in collaboration with the Festival Verdi in Parma and Busseto (Italy), present the opera NABUCCO, conducted by Michele Mariotti, directed by Daniele Abbado. Nabucco is a four lyric part drama, on a libretto by TEMISTOCLE SOLERA, from the drama Nabuchodonosor by Auguste Anicet-Bourgeois and Francis Cornu and from the Nabuccodonosor dance by Antonio Cortesi. The Verdi Festival is the first international festival dedicated exclusively to the study and production of the operas of Giuseppe Verdi, the most performed opera composer. The festival takes place every year around October 10th, Verdi's birthday, in Parma and Busseto, the land where the Maestro was born and lived. The Festival was inaugurated in 2001, the centennial of the death of the great composer, and has had such illustrious conductors.
