Tafelmusik at Home: Caprice

Welcome to Tafelmusik at Home, our new online concert series. If you can’t come to us, we will bring the concert experience to you! Hosted by Tafelmusik musicians from their homes, each program lasts about an hour and combines works that may be new to your ears with music you know and love. Be sure to stay until the end for live Q&A sessions with featured musicians. Join us for this new way to experience the beauty of Tafelmusik. 

Tafelmusik at Home: Caprice

Discover composers whose music may be new to your ears! This all-classical concert opens with Thomas Georgi on unaccompanied violin, followed by a sonoroussonata by Sperger featuring double bassist Pippa Macmillan. In the second half, Patrick G. Jordan and Margaret Gay, partners in life and art, perform a set of lively duets for viola and cello.

  • František Kočvara (1731–1791) Sonata for viola & bass in G Major, op. 2, no. 1: Con spiritoso – Andante – Rondo
  • C.G. Vanheelen (fl. 1785) Sonata for viola & bass in D Minor, op. 1, no. 6: Rondeau
  • Václav Pichl (1741–1805) Duetto in C Major, op. 14, no. 1: Allegro moderato – Adagio – Rondo: Andantino

This concert is Choose-What-You-Pay: tickets are available for $5, $10, or $20. Choose-What-You-Pay allows you to pay what you feel the value of the concert is.
