Nicholas Angelich

This concert is cancelled.

Koerner Hall welcomes the return of the pianist who thrilled us with his Rachmaninov Concerto No. 3 in October 2019 under the baton on Yannick Nézét-Séguin.

Pianist Nicholas Angelich is known for “spellbinding, rapt playing” (Bachtrack) and “strikingly imaginative performance ... subtle explorations of color, texture, and harmony … conjuring unusual veiled sonorities, drawing out inner lines that often go unnoticed, and dispatching rapid passagework with remarkable lightness and dynamic control.” (The Boston Globe)

Program:

Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Sonata No. 12 in A flat Major, op. 26

Sergei Prokofiev: Visions fugitives, op. 22

Johann Sebastian Bach: Wachet auf! ruft uns die Stimme, BWV645 (trans. Busoni)

Johannes Brahms: Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel, op. 24
