Flood of Compassion: A Fundraiser for Victims of Flooding in Pakistan

*Patrons attending this event are requested to wear a mask at all times unless eating or drinking.*

Fundraiser benefiting Pakistan flood relief efforts, organized by Arshad Khan.

Arshad Khan shares a deeply personal story of migration from Pakistan to Canada, self-discovery and familial reconciliation with ABU. Using VHS videos and family archives, Hollywood and Bollywood clips, as well as animation, ABU weaves a compelling tapestry on migration, sexuality, spirituality and mortality. This moving story of a father-son relationship will help you understand the history of Pakistan through the eyes of Khan and his adventurous family.

Join director Arshad Khan for a post-screening Q&A, moderated by Ali Kazmi (Funny BoyUncle Vanya).

Co-presented by Inside Out.

Tickets: $25, $50, $100

The $100 ticket includes the opportunity to enter a raffle for a piece of original art by Pakistani artist Asma Mahmood and a photo opportunity with director Arshad Khan.

The $50 ticket includes the opportunity to win an original piece of art by a local Toronto artist (TBD).

All proceeds from the event will go to The Citizens’ Foundation to help with the Pakistan flood relief efforts. The Citizens’ Foundation is a professionally managed, non-profit organization set up in 1995 by a group of citizens who wanted to bring about positive social change through education. 27 years later, TCF is now one of Pakistan’s leading organizations in the field of education for the less privileged.
