The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert
Pride Projected: Celebrate Pride with must-see documentaries, special events and screenings!
Back to the Bloor: Revel in the rich theatrical history of Toronto's beloved repertory cinema with fun series of throwbacks to when the building was known as the Bloor Cinema.
In this glitzy queer classic, two drag queens and a trans woman board the eponymous big, pink bus Priscilla and embark on a road trip across Australia. The three travel across the desert, performing for enthusiastic crowds and homophobic locals alike. Their act and their friendship are threatened, however, when Bernadette (Terence Stamp) and Felicia (Guy Pearce) learn the truth about why Mitzi (Hugo Weaving) took the job in the first place. Fabulously queer, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert features spectacular Academy Award-winning costumes by Lizzy Gardner and Tim Chappel, iconic drag performances, and three robust queer protagonists at the heart of its narrative.
