Beyond the devilish details: looking deeper into Hieronymus Bosch

Ron Spronk, a member of the BRCP research team and co-author of the new monograph, is a Professor of Art History at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and at Radboud University in Nijmegen. A specialist in the technical examination of easel paintings, he worked at the Harvard Art Museum between 1994 and 2007. From 2010-12, he coördinated the technical documentation campaign of the Ghent Altarpiece and the creation of the web application Closer to Van Eyck, Rediscovering the Ghent Altarpiece (http://closertovaneyck.kikirpa.be/). He is currently also co-curating an exhibition on Pieter Bruegel the Elder for the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.
