Pillow Fright!: Programmed and hosted by horror-loving best friends Emily Gagne and Danita Steinberg, Pillow Fright! is a new sleepover-themed, creep-tastic series for fellow friendly freaks – the girls, gays, and theys who crave a good scare in a safe, inclusive space. With a focus on nostalgic favourites, expect all the films that were in heavy weekend rotation in your parents’ basement.

You're invited to a sleepover-themed screening of The Haunting (1999) hosted by Pillow Fright! curators Emily Gagne and Danita Steinberg.

While not as critically acclaimed as other adaptations of Shirley Jackson's beloved The Haunting of Hill House, this PG-13 experiment in terror was a box office success and has gone on to become a nostalgic fave of queer ghost girls everywhere. Jan de Bont's supernatural horror flick follows grieving daughter Eleanor (Lili Taylor) after the mysterious Dr. Morrow (Liam Neeson) convinces her to take part in an insomnia study at a truly spooky Massachusetts mansion. As "Nell" and fellow participants Theo (Catherine Zeta-Jones) and Luke (Owen Wilson) quickly discover, this sprawling estate has quite the ghastly past, not to mention a vengeful spirit who isn't keen to let them leave.

Come early for late '90s karaoke, Ouija board sessions, and trick or treating! Pajamas always encouraged.
